Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a group of rare blood cancers that affect more than 4 in 100,000 people in the U.S.; the majority are seniors taken by surprise as they’re planning to live the best years of their lives.
To help MDS patients feel less scared, overwhelmed, and alone, Novartis used empathy infused storytelling to create new understanding. Prolific graphic artist, Noma Bar, created a 2-minute video that uncomplicated the science of MDS and educated on the potential for new, promising treatment possibilities.
The MDS community embraced this resource that offered hope and an active role in their journey.
